We arrived home late last night after our traditional Christmas trip to Kentucky, where we spent the holidays with my parents and siblings. Luckily, the trip back was much less eventful than the trip going, which involved creeping 10 miles in 3 hours on I-70, spending the night in the car in a parking lot with 300 other cars that were also paralyzed by the ice, being awakened by an irate FedEx driver banging on the driver's side window at 2am, and finally pulling into the parents' at 5am Christmas Eve morning. Fun times were had by all, let me tell you. All told, the trip took 13 hours going and 7 hours returning. Enough said. But we made it safe and sound, and then fun times really were had by all!
The lack of posts can be explained by the fact that, believe it or not, there are still some homes in the US (but hey, I'm not naming names) that still do not have internet, high speed or otherwise. Could I use any more italics to make my point? Note to self: threaten to boycott Christmas '09 unless a link to the outside world is confirmed.
In all seriousness, it was a much-needed break from blogging and purposeless internet surfing, so for that, I'm appreciative. Be prepared for a slew of catch-up posts...
